The food was so-so, but this isn't really an authentic Thai restaurant. It seemed to be more of a hodge-podge of 'Asian-themed' dishes. I had the Pineapple Sticky Rice, my mom had drunken noodles, and my boyfriend had the sesame chicken. I loved the sesame chicken, but then again it was heavily fried, and slathered in a sweet sort of sauce. My sticky rice was okay. Just okay. My mom's didn't seem all that memorable... The gyoza was good, but once again that's not a Thai dish. If you are just looking for run of the mill, fast food style Asian cuisine then you might enjoy this place. I will keep looking for my favorite Thai restaurant in Colorado Springs; this does not make the list.

Well, this place is certainly completely unassuming...but I've already come way past the point of appearances, especially when it comes to good ethnic food. I have some friends from Thailand and when I asked them for the "best thai food in the Springs," this is where they brought me. "Best Thai food ever" is a different story. The thai iced tea is perfectly as expected: sweet, orange, and delicious. I did have the beef&broccoli on one visit and was sorely disappointed...wouldn't recommend that. However, generally the friends I've brought with me on my various visits have been happy with their selections. The black soy noodles are my personal favorite here and are quite tasty. When I crave Thai food, I must admit that my first thoughts wander instead to my favorite Chicago Thai joint...but I do find myself here at Bhan Thai quite regularly and eat averagely well almost every time. Plus, leftovers are a bonus.

Its an 'order at the counter and sit down" deal which is nice when you just want to eat. Real friendly and capable staff and quality food. Put it on the side of a mountain instead of a strip plaza and I'd give it 6 stars.

I would go there and eat lunch right now if I could. I can't think of anything I've had on the menu that was not tasty.

Good Thai and really good ice cream.

I've only been here once and I will probably never go back because I was in town on business, but I had the best Phad Thai I've ever had there. It's in a strip mall so I almost passed it by, but the food was authentic, well seasoned, and not dry and sticky. Service was fast and the price was good. If I lived in CO Springs I'd do take out weekly at Bhan Thai.

First off they have ice cream there's one star. second the menu is not authentic at all, star two. Third no thai people working there and it wasn't very clean, star three. Lastly we waited more then 25 minutes and watched people after us get served before us, and then when they finnally thought they had my gf's food they didn't have mine. We asked for a full refund they did give us one.

Saturday afternoon lunch with the family. One table was taken in the whole place yet every table was dirty. Pad Thai had a weird taste to it and miso soup was not mixed well (chunks of paste). However, the pineapple fried rice was good.

Great food for an excellent price. Very authentic. The only downside is the atmosphere, but perfect for takeout! Hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. I'm a regular.

This was really quite tasty. I ate at the location on Academy, not sure if there's a difference. I had an egg roll appetizer and Panang curry with chicken. The egg roll was tempura battered and fried, and slightly peppery. I haven't noticed much pepper in egg rolls before---thai or otherwise---and I very much enjoyed it. The Panang curry was well prepared. I thought it could've used a little salt, but it wasn't enough to make me go fetch a shaker. The atmosphere was pleasant. A number of young families were eating on the Wednesday night I was there. The staff was friendly and helpful too. All in all it was well worth the price I paid (around $8 for both plus tea). I'll definitely be back.

Incredibly surprised by how excellent the food is here. The location is very deceptive in that it is located in a strip mall and the interior holds an ambiance of cookie cutter industrialization. However, the character of the restaurant comes to light as soon as you are greeted by a faux skateboard attired cashier more than thrilled to take your order. The real fun begins once your food is sizzling in the kitchen. My wife and I enjoyed a vantage point of seeing the back house activity. And we were impressed to see the passion and enthusiasm if the chef and matrons as our food was second to last order before the restaurant closed for the evening. The enthusiasm of the food only intensified as the Panang And Crystal Chicken hit our table. From first to last bite, we were not disappointed as the flavor was vibrant and the presentation colorful. We enjoyed every last bite and would highly recommend dining here and plan to return in that not too distant future.

for sure a favorite in colorado springs. when thinking of where to invest some food cash for the health of my stomach bhan thai always comes to mind. bhan thai or....bhan thai or....do it! it's good...and your wallet won't suffer much, you'll only have to let go of about 6 hard earned dollars.

  • Larkin G.

Tom kha gai soup-- delicious. We stopped in 15 minutes before closing and they happily seved us. Don't expect ambiance, but the food and prices will help you overcome the decor.

This is my favorite place to eat. Their recipe of coconut soup is the best! I couldn't find a restaurant in the whole Bay Area that would make the taste and all the ingredients as good as Bhan Thai. The price is perfect and the amount of food is amazing. Great for a group of friends or coworkers! I miss you Bhan Thai! Now I make my own coconut soup in California.

Bhan Thai was a refreshing delight in a sea of run of the mill Asian wannabe restaurants. The flavors were authentic and delicious. I had a green curry beef and a pineapple sweet and spicy chicken. Both were awesome. The staff was courteous, attentive, and polite. The place is clean, bright, and very inviting. Best of all they make genuine Bangkok style street coffee and tea! I will be making a habit of eating here.

Bhan Thai offers an array of menu items that please the casual diner; as well as the food enthusiast! I could not hardly even begin this review without speaking about the almost underpriced, but extremely delicious menu options (which are limited to one page; and ranked mild-spicy. Modest? Yes, but effective). Bhan Thai on Centennial is the newer expansion from the Bhan Thai on North Academy and in my opinion the better of the two. Speedy and courteous service only adds to the dining experience which is topped off by the simple, yet clean decor of the restaurant. I would recommend the Drunken Noodles which is a dish that consists of ginger rice noodles mixed with chives and meat (of your choice; beef or chicken) and a peanut butter sauce. Or the Sweet and Sour Thai Style. A dish served with steamed rice and a plethora of veggies such as zucchini, squash, broccoli (and surprisingly fruit), smothered in a mild red sauce. Overall a great restaurant which boasts a consistent experience for me and companions every time!

The food is good, but the wait for dining in is too long. If you are in a hurry you may be better off walking in and ordering your meal to-go. Whenever I have ordered a meal for dinning in, the wait is about 40 minutes before receiving my meal, but when I have ordered my meal to-go, my meal has been prepared with lightening speed. This is the only reason I have knocked one star off. The other star is missing because I have found a better, cleaner place to enjoy Thai food at. Bhan Thai's is not "dirty" at all, but I've seen and tasted better.

  • Jon D.

Quick and delicious! These guys have really stepped up their game since EIM Thai moved in just down the street. Remodeled interior, new menu items and food presentation that implies they actually care. I've been a regular here for years and switched to EIM when they opened. But now I'm back!

Awful! Real Thai my butt. If you want authentic, real Thai without any other oriental influence, then I suggest LANNA THAI off Research. Everything at LANNA THAI is awesome and as authentic as you can get (without leaving the US). We've eaten Thai all over the world and Thai Basil is Chinese food with Thai peppers!

  • Kai T.

For the record, i've spent about 6 weeks in Thailand a few years ago and thus, comparing it to authentic Thailand cuisine, it is a long-shot. Very Americanized Thai food which is prob why all these Colorado Springs natives are raving about it so much. On the other hand, the food was seasoned well and the service was punctual and friendly, worth a visit! B+

  • Brian M.

Whilst not a Thai Food expert, I do enjoy it, and this was perfect for a quick lunch. A couple egg rolls, and a large Thom Kha Gai (medium spicy) for less than $10 filled me up then and when paired with the accompanying rice set me up for a second meal.

  • Jessica D.

Let's face it: Colorado Springs is lacking in *any* Thai restaurants, let alone good ones. Bhan Thai is one exception. This is the newly opened second location (see the first on Academy Boulevard). The two have a similar feel-- casual, order at the counter, sit down to eat. Prices are reasonable, and there's a lot of variety. So far I've only tried the pad thai with chicken and the shrimp fried rice, but both were delicious. The Thai iced coffee and Thai iced tea are well done and come in large portions. Definitely get the mango sticky rice for dessert-- it's a treat!

    (4)
  • CARRIE G.

Very informal but nice and clean. Drunken noodles with pork was great! The Chefs Spicy Shrimp was awesome, medium was pretty spicy - perfect for me! Will be a mainstay on our favorite restaurant list.

    (5)
  • D K.

Fair. The sesame chichen was very good, curry chicken didn't have much flavor, fried rice was awesome, padthai noodles were very good too.

    (3)
  • Kira S.

cheap and quick... but those are my only positive remarks. I ordered the pad thai, medium spicy, with tofu. the dish came out pink, as though they had just thrown some sriracha in the sauce and called it a day. furthermore, there were large pieces of chicken in my dish, which is disturbing because as a vegetarian, i can usually count on thai food as a safe option. bottom line--i was excited to see a thai restaurant so close to my new apartment, but i was so disappointed in the food, i will not be going here in the future.

My favorite Thai restaurant! Always good. The soups are wonderful!

  • Stephen F.

Wow I can't believe there is a legitimate ethnic restaurant in CS. This place get 5 stars from me for authentic flavors and freshly made food. I've been here about 20 times already. I've been to Thailand and their curries and right on the mark. Don't be a wuss get them at least medium spicy.

    (5)
  • Jessica T.

My pad thai smelled like canned cat food. Not appetizing. I tried a couple bites, but it tasted like it smelled. Ugh.

  • Janjira N.

They have a new Items ( Pumpkin Curries with Tilapia Fish) came with a brown rice!!!!was delicious. This place always make a Fantastic Thai food.

Okay food, price, and atmosphere - just okay.

    (3)
  • Libby H.

Tried both locations and the Garden of the Gods is far superior. The lady at the Academy Blvd did not know what the coconut soup was called and tho it was tasty it lacked the Thai basil, saucer, and crispy wonton I got at the GOG location. Only one star for lack of consistency and helpful employees.

    (1)
  • Zack F.

Not fast food. Slightly upscale from that. Walk up to counter, order and sit down. Flavor is OK. A bit burnt and smothered or jumbled tasting like off the shelf sauces used in too high a proportion and then cooked too long at too high a heat. Drunken noodles were shredded. Not enough basil. I wouldn't go back.

    (3)
  • Chris W.

This place is just the worst. It's close by, so I've given it more chances than it deserves and it has disappointed each and every time. Don't bother.

    (1)
  • Joanne L.

This was the closest Thai place at the time and it was not what I expected. The place doesn't seem very pretty. The lady that served us seem friendly. The hot and spicy soup was too spicy and all you could taste was chili. The chicken was too dry. The pad thai was sub par.

    (2)
  • Terry W.

Awesome food. We ate there last night and it didn't disappont. I do like other Thai places in the Springs but I have to say this is one of the top. I actually ordered the Spicy Pad Tai which had a amazing flavor to it but it almost burn a hole thru my belly. So be careful with it if you don't like allot of spicy. My daughter ordered the fried rice and the dumplings. I have say for a 7 year old she loved it and almost ate all of it. One other thing, their customer service is top notch and super friendly. This is type of place that will recieve my praize.

    (4)
  • Chris T.

Wait was a little longer than I expected. When the food arrived it looked really good! But unfortunately it didn't taste nearly as good as it looked. Some of the chicken wasn't fully cooked, the noodles were oily and you could taste that they don't wash the pans enough. Much nicer interior than the other location on Galley, but the food was awful. Only good thing about the visit was the service. Maybe it was an abnormal day or a new cook, but I'm not eager to give this place a second chance.

    (1)
  • Tanya B.

I got the Volcano Chicken and subbed fried rice. SO DELISH! Wonderful customer service. Speedy yet accurate food service as well. If this wasn't 30 minutes from my house, I'd be a regular for sure. I'm excited to take my husband next time :)

  • Mimi K.

The star is for the yummy thai iced tea. As we are ordering a toddler is sitting on the back counter top. Then as we left, she was sitting on top of the candy machines playing with an elder gentleman. To me, this is not sanitary.. Otherwise customer service was bad and rude and the food was just drenched in sauce which was overpowered with fish sauce. It's not authentic thai food to me and I loooove thai food! I would not suggest this place to anyone. It used to be real good when it first open many many years ago.

I was craving green curry and stopped into Bhan Thai for the first time today to get my fix. There are a fair share of Thai places in town and this is the first I've tried, so can only compare Bhan to past experiences. Descriptors that come to mind - clean, quiet, decent menu variety, attentive staff, good basic Thai food. I ended up with green chicken curry over steamed rice and a vegetarian egg roll (because you know I have to check out the egg and spring rolls wherever I go). It satisfied the itch, but didn't wow me. Here's why - when someone at a Thai restaurant asks you how spicy you want your food in my experience you must answer that question very, very carefully. I have found that in the one-to-five pepper scale, I'm a solid one. Anything above that and I can't taste the more delicate savory flavors above the heat. So when I said I wanted my dish with "medium" heat today I was expecting lunch to melt my face off. Not so much here. Their spice tolerances are definitely Americanized meaning my "medium" spice = little to no heat. Not what I wanted. Next time I'll order differently..or maybe continue my search for a slightly more authentic experience.

  • Ryenne K.

The food wasn't authentic by any means. I ordered the red curry, which had barely any meat and the vegetables were soggy and not cut properly. Also the rice was extremely soggy and the curry was so watered down it was impossible to eat with chopsticks. For the same price I spent here I could've gone somewhere much better like Thai Mint or Thai Basil.

    (2)
  • Chris H.

Solid place to get some decently priced Thai food. The staff is really nice and helpful, the atmosphere is really clean and well put together, and of course the food is good. I love the green and red curry which are loaded with veggies which I enjoy and I usually get one of those and pair it with a really tasty noodle dish like pad thai or something. The only thing I've had here that I didn't like is the drunken noodles...not a whole lot of texture variation in there and pretty boring flavors but other than that this food is great. Also, Monday - Wed they have a buy 2 get 1 half off special on entrees so that's worth checking out.

  • Tim S.

Star? This place gets a star for being open. Walk in and there is a guy wearing a basketball jersey cooking, taking orders and bringing food. What? Since when is this even close to sanitary? Nothing like a good workout before coming to work and adding a little bit of sweat to the food for a nice salty taste. Order and pay for a drink. No ice. NO ICE?? I find out AFTER I get my cup? As I sit down and attempt to enjoy my meal, a gentleman begins to work on the overhead ice machine. Yep. He is sleeveless as well. Heck. Nothing like a bit of body sodium in your drink as well. Dirty with bad food.

  • Brian S.

I used to eat here for lunch once a month when I was working in the Springs and I was never disappointed. The initial service at the counter may get a little slow during lunch, but you'll be rewarded. Huge portions of the hottest, tenderest, most savory Thai food in the city. In the entire southern part of Colorado for that matter. It's clean, quiet and unasssuming, and the service is pretty quick once you get your order in. Bonus: They have some super delicious hand made ice cream to top off your tank as you leave.

  • Mark R.

I went to the Bhan Thai on Centennial and Garden of the Gods a couple nights ago and ordered Panang Curry. The lady at the counter was very nice, and she had a cute toddler behind the counter with her. The food came out quickly, and looked nice, but it was somewhat disappointing. The sweet, cloying coconut flavor overpowered pretty much everything else, and the sauce was extremely thin as well. It wasn't absolutely horrible, but there are lots of better places for Panang in the Springs (one of which is the other restaurant called Bhan Thai at the corner of Academy and Galley. Maybe I'll give this restaurant another try, but will order something other than the Panang.

    (2)
  • Cielo G.

Fair, that's all. Flavor of the curry was fine, but, the place wasn't very clean. Didn't have brown rice to offer. Portions kind of small. They had their religious radio station playing obnoxiously in the kitchen; a real turnoff.

    (2)
  • Todd H.

First this is not the best Thai I've ever had, but its not fast food wannabe Thai either. It's more of a "We are unsure of our identity Thai". I ordered the drunken noodles since there was a lot of raving about it on Yelp. I got it with chicken. I'd say the order would be better summarized as slightly inebriated vegetables with some noodles and a little dark meat chicken to boot. Not as good in my opinion as the raves on here. The dish had a slight Burt taste, not cool. I was starving after a long workday and I was able to finish all the groceries, so my complaints have to be limited to slightly below middle of the road Thai. I won't come back though!

  • Ashley T.

I found this place on Yelp and was so excited to try it as I love Thai food. The pictures looked good, so I ordered Hot and Sour Soup and Drunken Noodles for take-out. The soup was inedible, just awful and tasted so concentrated. I figured oh well at least I have my noodle dish. When I opened the container the noodles were all mashed and chopped up. I took a few bites and the flavors were just horrible, very oily and tasted like one of those "add water and microwave" Asian dishes. I knew if I ate more I would regret it. Guy behind the register was rude and did not care one bit. If you're looking for good Thai food try Thai Basil, Wild Ginger, or Na Rai.

  • Xiaowen W.

We used to eat here often, the food was cheap and decent . We ate here tonight and it was awful - my husband ordered Thai Basil chicken and got sick right after eating it. It was salty, greasy. The cook must dump the whole jar of chili powder and called it Thai spicy. Will not go back again.

Delicious! I appreciate that so much of the menu could be made vegetarian and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this was! I went for a quick, weekday lunch. I ordered the cashew tofu (cashew chicken made with tofu) and a vegetarian egg roll. The spice level was perfect! I am not a fan off very spicy food which is always a risk at Thai restaurants. This dish was perfectly spiced with just a touch of heat. The sauce was complex and extremely flavorful, and the vast array of veggies included was impressive - mushrooms, red peppers, zucchini, onion, broccoli - and all were cooked perfectly. The rice was fresh and soft and the entire dish was presented nicely. The vegetarian egg roll was different than I've seen before - it appeared almost like a tempura fried version. It didn't disappoint either with a nice crisp outside and flavorful cabbage/noodle inside. The dipping sauce was also delicious, like a Thai plum sauce with a bit of vinegar. While I think the decor could use a little refreshing and some areas could be a little cleaner, I will be back with my husband to try other dishes. Very delicious and conveniently located just down the street from UCCS and surrounding areas.

Pros: Chicken Pad Thai was spot on. Exactly what I wanted. Friendly staff and plenty of seating. Parking is excellent for this restaurant as it sits in a shopping area. All you can drink soda machine. Time to prepare food seemed about right. Excellent cost for Thai food. Con: I wouldn't take a date here. Completely open and not really comfortable to have an intimate conversation. I wouldn't say it's the best Thai food on this side on town either, there is a better place near by (Nai Rai). Great place for lunch on a Wednesday with some coworkers. Filling proportions for a low price.

We stopped by this restaurant on our way to garden of gods. They serve complimentary soup with any meal order, however the soup was extremely salty!! I wonder they ever tasted themselves. Food was Not Good there. I ordered the spicy noodle soup and it's just bunch of meat and bamboos mix with little bit of noodle in a weird taste of soup. The looks of the dish is way better than the taste which I got trapped in here. The reason for one star is because there's flies flying around our table!!

    (1)
  • Sarah D.

Service was good but food was just okay, nothing great. Didn't finish my pad thai that night because I just wasn't digging the flavor. Ate the leftovers cold though, and it was actually a lot better. Probably won't order it again though. Summer rolls were bland with very little substance. Might be back if I'm desperate for thai food and nowhere else is open (they're open fairly late) but will otherwise be on a search for something better.

  • Crystal G.

Their food is excellent! Nice modern atmosphere, with a tiny kitchen. Located in an older strip-mall, I wasn't sure if it would be a fun place to go eat, and I was pleasantly surprised when I walked inside. The different food items that I've tried and would recommend are: Egg Roll (Vegetarian), Steamed Chicken Dumplings, Spicy Noodle Soup , Seafood Soup, and Massamon Curry: Thai yellow curry paste cooked with coconut milk, Bell peppers, potatoes, onions and ground peanuts.

  • Mary W.

This is the only restaurant in Colorado Springs serving actual Thai food. (There are two other "Thai" restaurants that I know of, and both serve Chinese food covered in thick brown sauce with a little lemon grass in it.) The food is nice and fresh-tasting, and Bhan Thai offers a decent variety of dishes. Be aware that this is a counter-service restaurant with zero atmosphere, located in a strip mall.

  • Aravinthan R.

Great food...friendly staff.. Catered to us even when we barged in just before closing time. The drunken noodles and the spicy chicken..incredible combination. The best in thai cuisine. The cost is just right, and the menu pick is surprisingly large. Go cool on the spice meter while ordering food because it can get really spicy! Great little thai joint. We loved it.

  • S M.

I like this place. It's clean and quiet and the food is good. I really wish they would offer brown rice as a healthier alternative to white rice like other Thai restaurants in Denver etc. Would also be AWESOME of they offered Thai burrito style wraps to go (with brown rice) like Tuk Tuk in Denver!!

  • Stacie G.

Once again, Bhan Thai rocks!! Ordered a little Pad Thai w/shrimp and crab wontons for carry out last night and it was fab-u-lous! I think I'm going to become obsessed with trying everything on their menu! Great customer service and food was hot when I picked it up.

Pad Thai smelt quite a bit funky..like dirty kitty cat in my opinion. Didn't feel well after. I don't recommend this place.

Holy spicy Lord!.. was I looking for a delicious meal on my first night in Colorado Springs, and am I glad I had you CO yelpers to guide me in the right direction! I loved this place. The service was friendly, the dining environment was clean and comfortable (despite the lack of patrons), and the FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. I asked for a recommendation of something related to my staple, and the cashier suggested DRUNKEN NOODLES! I am love-drunk over these drunken noodles. I could drink me some drunken noodles right now! drunken drunk nood noodles! I want to get drunk right now off some drunken noodles. Seriously: they're spicy; chock full of vegetables; steaming hot; fresh delicious, perfectly cooked noodles; and delicious saucy meat! In a single word, amazing! The place appears to be very take-out friendly, and they have a weird ice cream service setup inside. Almost like a little business inside this business. If you're in Colorado Springs, and you're looking for Thai food, check out this place.

I haven't had Thai food in a while, and I'm certainly no expert, but I enjoyed this meal. I had the Pad Thai (figured I'd start with something I know and could compare). I ordered it medium spicy which is exactly how I would describe it. Big helping - very tasty. It's close to where I work so I know I'll be back to try other menu items. Also looking forward to stopping in for some ice cream. ;-)

I really want to give this place more stars, but.... I've eaten here 3 times now, and it's very inconsistant. It seems to depend on who is cooking. When mama is in the back the spices and flavors are right on. When it's one of the guys, everything tends to be a little bland or swamped in soy sauce. Everyone is always friendly, and the prices are right. The last couple of times I've been here the tabels and condiments have been rather sticky. This all adds up to a fairly average place to me.

  • Trisha C.

This used to be a favorite spot, but seems to have gone downhill. The last two visits (where we ordered take-out) were extremely disappointing. My Chicken Basil had hardly any chicken in it, and the last time we ordered the mango sticky rice (what had been our absolute favorite dessert) it came with a long dark hair embedded in the rice. And, because both instances were take-out, we didn't discover the problems until we were already home. The food used to be great, but after the last two attempts, we won't be going back.

The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired as far as Asian restaurants go. You go to the counter and order for yourself, then the food is brought to you. I personally did not think that the food was anything special, but it was not aweful either.

Was in Colorado Springs on the tail end of a long roadtrip to Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods. Decided to try out Bhan Thai since it was close to where we came out from the Garden. Took a group of 5 people there on a Saturday at around 6:00 and it wasn't overly crowded. We walked right in and right away noticed their prices were amazingly low for Thai Food. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai medium spicy with a side of wontons and a thai iced tea. It was a little over $10...so cheap for that much food! My friends tried a bunch of other stuff that sounded good...curry fried rice, chicken fried rice, etc. The waitress was amazingly nice. I immediately liked the place because she was so warm and inviting. The appetizers came out and the wontons were o.k. They came with lots of sesame on them which isn't my favorite...but if you like sesame you probably would have adored these. Then came the chicken pad thai. DELICIOUS! Medium spicy probably wasn't spicy enough for my palette so next time I will definitely go with the HOT. They have all the condiments you could want to put on top including diced peanuts...and I downed the entire plate, it was so delicious! My friends loved their meals so much that we all decided to buy another meal to go for lunch the next day! Good people, good food. Oh and the waitress brought us all free hot and sour soup just because as well...which was pretty good (note pretty good is saying a lot because I usually HATE hot and sour soup...but there's was good). They even have homemade ice cream for dessert! Not an upscale place by any means, but delicious Thai Food...would go back in a heartbeat if I lived in Colorado Springs.

My husband and I love to go here every once in a while for the pad thai and drunken noodles. They are a great price for a lot of food and they deliver for free up to 3 miles away which is pretty cool. We've never had to wait long for our food and they've always been really friendly. The only thing is that the food here isn't as spicy as at other thai restaurants we've been to so where we would normally get medium we get the hot here.

Every dish we ordered was DELICIOUS! Best egg rolls we've ever had. Large and tempura battered? Really? WOW!!! Entree portions were large. My daughters kid-portion fried rice was enough to share (or at least steal some when she wasn't looking.) Very, VERY satisfied!

I still have dreams about Bhan Thai's Tom Yum Guy Soup. I recently moved to Denver and sadly left Bahn Thai and their amazing spicy lemongrass soup behind....I have yet to find a place that comes close so the search continues. They also have AMAZING Thai Beef Salad. Don't go there for the ambiance, its a whole in the wall for goodness sake! Go for the food!

Have I already mentioned that this whole Yelp thing is going to turn out real bad for my waistline?? I was sifting through reviews before lunch and stumbled upon this place. I've been disappointed by Thai food in the Springs many times before, so I my expectations were not incredibly high, but this time I was not let down! Bhan Thai was fast, friendly, very clean and a bargain! For around $6 I picked up a plate of loaded Pad Thai with Tofu (available with any protein you want, really though) and I was able to order this hot. So many pad thais are sickly sweet and quite a turn-off to me. Bhan Thai had extra spices available that you could customize your food with on your own as well, but I didn't need that because mine came out perfect. Their menu is quite extensive as well, offering a wide selection of curries, thai salads, noodles, traditional appetizers and even some chinese dishes. I can't wait to return and try the curries. Yum!

So far every dish I had was delish. Been there during lunch time rush and in the evening, service is always fast.

Ambiance: Very generic setting in a strip mall. They have some nice tallback stools where you can sit at the window and watch people pass by. Recently added an ice cream section (what this has to do with Thai is beyond me.) Small area selling a nice selection of chopsticks. Service: Counter Service. Friendly waitress will deliver your food to your table. You get your own silverware / chopsticks / napkins, etc. You also get your own soda from a self-serve fountain. Food: I have been here about six or so times. Food falls into the average category for me. The curries are not very spicy, even when ordering "very spicy". Also, the curries are rather on the bland side, lacking in some of the nuances found in better Thai restaurants outside of Colorado Springs. The pad thai is ok, but I have had better at other establishments in town. Spring rolls are ok. Their limited menu includes several Chinese selections (to me a sign of not very authentic when an Asian restaurant attempts to conquer more than one style of cuisine.) Overall, this place is not authentic (and I have been eating Thai for many years in major large cities throughout the US, so I know authentic Thai!). Dumbed-down Americanized version of Thai cooking. You would not find the following items on a true Thai menu: Chicken Fingers (very American), Shu Mai (Chinese Dim Sum -which I love, but are awful here), Chicken Gyosa (Japanese), Crab Meat Cheese Wonton (not even Chinese, but American), Miso Soup (Japanese), Egg Drop Soup (Chinese), Chicken Teriyaki (Americanized Japanese), Chicken Noodle Soup (American), Sesame Chicken (not Thai), Cheesecake (What is this doing on the menu?) I just named about a fourth of the menu. This place is cheap, so that is a draw for some, but this is not the real mccoy folks (sorry to say). - think a Thai version of Panda Express!

Good for quick, cheap, satisfying lunch. I had the drunken noodles, and they were flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Respectable amount of meat, and LOTS of cabbage & onions. My lunch companion ordered the green curry, and I wasn't thrilled with the taste I had of that.

I stayed in CO Springs for 2 days from CA and I thought this was fantastic! On the first night, the best dishes were green chicken curry and pad Thai. We were so impressed we even came back for dinner the second night. We again got the pad Thai, but this time we also got the fried tofu. I forget the name, but it was fried tofu with a yellow green sauce serve with rice. Yummy! Food fantastic! The atmosphere was also good. It gave me a feeling similar to chipotle. Anyways. A great restaurant! Go here! You won't be sorry!

cheap and quick... but those are my only positive remarks.

Wow I can't believe there is a legitimate ethnic restaurant in CS. This place get 5 stars from me for authentic flavors and freshly made food. I've been here about 20 times already. I've been to Thailand and their curries and right on the mark. Don't be a wuss get them at least medium spicy.

Quick and delicious! These guys have really stepped up their game since EIM Thai moved in just down the street. Remodeled interior, new menu items and food presentation that implies they actually care. I've been a regular here for years and switched to EIM when they opened. But now I'm back!

This was the closest Thai place at the time and it was not what I expected. The place doesn't seem very pretty. The lady that served us seem friendly. The hot and spicy soup was too spicy and all you could taste was chili. The chicken was too dry. The pad thai was sub par.

Saturday afternoon lunch with the family. One table was taken in the whole place yet every table was dirty. Pad Thai had a weird taste to it and miso soup was not mixed well (chunks of paste). However, the pineapple fried rice was good.

  • Mielita R.

  • Annabelle N.

  • Mike N.

  • Zaena F.

    (3)
  • Joshua S.

    (4)

Very informal but nice and clean. Drunken noodles with pork was great! The Chefs Spicy Shrimp was awesome, medium was pretty spicy - perfect for me! Will be a mainstay on our favorite restaurant list.

Fair. The sesame chichen was very good, curry chicken didn't have much flavor, fried rice was awesome, padthai noodles were very good too.

    (4)

  • Runjapan O.

The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired as far as Asian restaurants go. You go to the counter and order for yourself, then the food is brought to you. I personally did not think that the food was anything special, but it was not aweful either.

  • Don S.

Not world class but very good for colorado springs.

    (3)

I got the Volcano Chicken and subbed fried rice. SO DELISH! Wonderful customer service. Speedy yet accurate food service as well. If this wasn't 30 minutes from my house, I'd be a regular for sure. I'm excited to take my husband next time :)

    (5)

Once again, Bhan Thai rocks!! Ordered a little Pad Thai w/shrimp and crab wontons for carry out last night and it was fab-u-lous! I think I'm going to become obsessed with trying everything on their menu! Great customer service and food was hot when I picked it up.

This place is just the worst. It's close by, so I've given it more chances than it deserves and it has disappointed each and every time. Don't bother.

Good food at good prices. Atmosphere is a bit echoing and loud for meetings but great otherwise.
